The UPS Integration extension for VISUAL® utilizes the existing functionality within UPS Worldship along with a custom view we have developed in order to facilitate real-time data lookups from VISUAL® for address information (by Packlist ID) and write-backs into Visual for the tracking number, shipping weight, and actual freight cost.  

When the configuration is in place, the end user will launch the ‘Keyed Import’ function in order to perform the lookup (see screenshot).

This will open a new dialog (see screenshot).

At this point the user will type or scan a Packlist number into the yellow field and, upon hitting enter, the customer information will be populated from Visual.  The package is next weighed and the user will click the Process Shipment button (or press F10) to record the shipment and print off the label.    

After you have completed scanning in all of your UPS shipments you will click ‘End Of Day’ in Worldship, the shipments will be transmitted to UPS, and the tracking numbers will be written back to VISUAL® according to the following logic:

• The tracking number will be written to the Packlist ‘Waybill Number’ field.
• The entire shipment cost will be written to the first line in the Actual Freight column.
• The entire shipment weight will be written to the first line in the Ship Weight column.
